Old Friends
I used to have a page with all my close friends on it, and you could see a picture of them, read a bit about them,
and basically walk away with at least some idea as to why they were such good friends. To be quite honest, though
I've always kept very few close friends, I keep even fewer today.
Many of my friends over the past few years are in some way connected to parts of my life that I've chosen to leave
behind and walk away from, so contact with them just sort of dwindled.
Sharon
Sharon is one of my longest friendships, having also been a roommate for a number of years. We started hanging
out when she worked as a dispatcher at the Sheriff's Office, well before I sought employment there. We stayed
friends through the years and grew even closer once I was hired. She still works shift work and we seldom talk
or see each other, but we remain good friends today.
Raymond
Raymond is another former roommate and also worked at the Sheriff's Office with me. He's still there and also
running his own business as an audio engineer. I talk to him from time to time, though we're rarely when more
in town at the same time. He travels even more than I do.
Jimmy
I still keep in frequent touch with my friend Jimmy, who was a police dispatcher when I was working at the
Sheriff's Office. He and I are very similar and get along wonderfully. He lives across town and stays very
busy spending time with his son, Jason. As a result, I don't see him as often as I used to, but we still talk
fairly regularly.
Jim
A dear friend of the family, Jim serves many purposes. He fathers me when I need it, gives me financial advice,
proofreads my wesbite for typographical errors, and listens to me vent when I feel the need to
do so. He also takes time to remind me how the Gators are good
athletes from time to time.
Parke
Parke is another friend from Dickinson. I actually stayed with him during the summer that I spent in Cameroon. Actually,
to be more specific, all of my belongings stayed with him. I was there for a few weeks. He's a physicist and spends his
days designing acoustic wonders, such as concert halls or specialized audio/video setups. He was a professional cyclist
who has also spent time in Africa.
