Welcome!
I'm a 39-year-old IT professional in Jacksonville, Florida. My educational background is physical anthropology and neurobiology, though I regularly take college courses these days solely because they happen to interest me at the moment. My professional background ranges from law enforcement to software development. I also spent several years as a DJ in north Florida clubs.
I'm an endurance athlete and have run a number of marathons and half-marathons around the country. I'm also a running coach with Team In Training, helping volunteers train for an endurance event while they raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My new interest is triathlons and last year I completed at least one triathlon of every standard distance from the fast Sprint up to a full Ironman.
My wife and I married in March 2008 and live in the Fort Caroline area of Jacksonville. We have a Boston Terrier named Clancy. He's currently unemployed.
Announcements
I'm running several marathons during the triathlon "off-season" and will return to triathlon competition in the spring. My wife and I are heading to Orlando for Disney Marathon Weekend in January, our third time. She will be running in the half-marathon on Saturday and I will be running both the half- and the full marathon the following day.
I am planning to continue cycling through the winter and always welcome company on rides. Please contact me if you are interested in getting some miles in around the Jacksonville area.
Site Information
I've recently decided to change the entire layout of the site so that it's driven by MovableType. I've used this platform for my blog for years and really like both its user interface and how easily I can customize it. This made the decision to use it for content management somewhat of a natural progression.
I've also finished my push to bring the site into complaince with current standards, which started a little over a year ago and culminated with the recent removal of the last table that was used for structural purposes. At this point, the only tables used on the site are for displaying tabular data, which was the original intent of the HTML table.
